QSL Data base software for DX Cluster 100408/OZ7C ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This software packages include following databases: QSL.FUL more than 470000 infoes in 440152 records MGR.FUL about 16348 Manager calls (more than 3 listings) Utilities to clean QSL and Make the MGR.file e.t.c Utilities to convert files frm Dos/Win to a Unix/Linux 1. Installation of the software: a) First you need to have about 40 M byte disk free on your hardisk, for just copy the software into your hard disk. b) write INSTALL You need makeidx.exe and a path to it. c) Edit in your AUTOEXEC insert in the line path c:\OZ1CTK; WinXP Control Panel/System/Advarnced/Environment/Path d) To get the DB QSL.FUL and MGR.FUL you need to copy it to the DX cluster directory. COPY C:\OZ1CTK\PACKCLUS\DB\*.* C:\PACKCLUS\DB\*.* e) if You have a file SYSOP.DAT you need to insert the sysop.dat from OZ1CTK\PACKCLUS in the original sysop.dat f) reboot and cross your fingers !!!! now it shall be active. 2. This pakages also got a program to clean DX.DAT file done out from a filter file look in DX_SPOT.BAT. You can change the filter serup to mach your country. The filter provided is used here on our DXcluster OZ2DXC when the DX.DAT have abt 32500 dxspots then it reduce the size !!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Files: C:\OZ1CTK\*.EXE \*.BAT \PACKCLUS\*.DAT \*.RAW \DB\QSL.* \MGR.* -------------------------------------------------------------------------- New tools included to convert to a linux based DXcluster. cd C:\OZ1CTK\LINUX run m_db copy the two files to a directory on the linux disk e.g. /home/my_dir/*.ful if the Cluster pgm is a DXspider cd /spider/perl ./console.pl dbcreate qsl dbimport /home/my_dir/qsl.ful qsl dbcreate mgr dbimport /home/my_dir/mgr.ful mgr -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Use of The *.BAT Files CL_QSL This bat file is used to clean the QSL.FUL file. This is necessary if you decide that update shall be done. Then it is necessary to clean the QSL.FUL and make a new IDX file, the procedure is as follows: copy the qsl.ful to a empty directory, and stay there. cl_qsl the file will now be cleaned and the number of records can be written into QSL.ja MAKEIDX QSL.FUL 8-10 times the number records> Makeidx qsl.ful 1500000 Copy now the qsl.ful and qsl.idx to the cluster directory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAKE_MGR This bat file is used to make a new MGR.FUL file. This is only necessary if the have been made Updating in the QSL file. Copy QSL.FUL to an clean directory and stay there. MAKE_MGR and wait takes about 30 Min.
